Sandpiper Bay Golf Day — May 21, 2011
Sandpiper Bay will be hosting a special Golf Day on May 21, 2011 in conjunction with the PGA Free Lesson Month Promotion and Play Golf America.
Our special guest is Curtis Strange, a two time US OPEN Champion, who won back to back titles in 1988 and 1989.
With 16 of his 17 wins coming in the 1980’s Curtis was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2007. He played on five US Ryder Cup Teams and was the Captain of the 2002 Team. He currently competes on the Champions Tour and is also an analyst for ESPN and its affiliates. A Wake Forest graduate and a Virginia native, Curtis is visiting Sandpiper Bay to promote the game of golf and give clinics to Junior Golfers in our area, and to assist in a Nike Golf Demo Day.
Make plans to attend this event, open to the public on Sat. May 21.
There will be a Junior Clinic (age 17 and under) from 10am – 12 noon. Curtis will speak to the group about the game and give some Tour tested swing tips: then the kids will be split up and receive hands on instruction from area PGA Golf Professionals.
Sandpiper Bay will provide clubs to Juniors who do not have them.
Please RSVP to the Sandpiper Golf Shop at 910-579-9120 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
An Adult Clinic will start at 12:30 pm, during which Curtis will speak and demonstrate his skills. After the clinic, we will host a Nike Golf Equipment Demo Day from 1 – 3 pm. Guests will be able to hit the new high tech Nike Golf Clubs, and Curtis will be on site for the rest of the afternoon.
Spend your Saturday at Sandpiper Bay for a great day of golf and meet a Member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
